Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings rocked the house last year! It was our first time at Club Nokia, and it was a total blast.
Fantasy night…..would be Nina Simone opening for Queen….!
I’m not in for the tickets, but I thought I’d chime in here, too. IMANSHO (In my also not so humble opinion,) I have to agree. Club Nokia is definitely one of the best large clubs. There have been some great shows there over the last year. Just a few weeks ago was Motorhead, Reverend Horton Heat, and Nashville Pussy. Awesome! English Beat were fantastic, as usual. The best, though, had to be George Clinton & P-Funk. They tore the roof off the sucka.
In my honest not so humbling humble opinion it would have to be Porcupine Tree with Big Elf. Never heard of both before the show, now they’re two of my favorite bands
The Streets at Club Nokia were awesome! Loved the venue and can’t wait to go back!
Never been, but in a perfect fantasy world it would be Elliott Smith opening for Nirvana(unplugged) and the Beatles headlining. Jeeze, why are all my favorite artists dead? what a bummer.
Bloc Party with the Black Kids and the Pretenders (Indie 103.1 Christmas show) was the only time I’ve been to Club Nokia so far. Bloc Party is always good, and the Black Kids rocked it. The Pretenders…not so much.
Maybe Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes will play there soon?
