Win Tix to Hanson & Hellogoodbye Saturday, Nov. 7

hansonSo I remember when Hanson got big for the first time. They were, like, eight or whatever. And everybody thought they were kinda a joke, even though they all grudgingly admitted the music was, indeed, good.

Fifteen years later, the guys are actually still together, no longer look like carbon copies of one another, and are still actually playing good music. They’ve converted skeptical critics nation-wide (and internet-wide) into boosters.

Wanna go check the show out? We’ve got your hook-up. Post a comment below telling me something that you’re not too cool to admit you like. For me, I will admit I read and enjoyed every book in the Twilight series and I spent my Halloween hanging out with my parents. There. Now you.

Info on the show is here.

Hate to admit I liked “Stars Are blind” by Paris Hilton.

Oh Hanson, flaxen-haired, dulcet-toned stars of my middle school dreams. I am not at all ashamed to say I still like them.

Nor am I ashamed to admit that I spent a fantastic week this summer re-reading all the Boxcar Children books from my old collection – nearly 50, which took me all of third grade the first time around.

For the sake of my wife because she LOVES Hanson (and maybe I like their music too…..a little…..sorta…….ktheyrock), I will share a moment in life I try to forget. When I was little, I was in the school spelling bee. I got to the last 2 and I lost. I cried because I lost…..in front of everyone. I was lame.

And I agree, somehow Paris Hilton actually makes songs I enjoy listening to.

I, too, was in the school spelling bee. Unlike Dave, I won…but like Dave, I was lame…especially because I still remember that my winning word was “scissors”. I’m not ashamed to admit that I listen to Alvin & the Chipmunks Christmas music every holiday season. Doing crossword puzzles with my Grandma. And having a grandma-like bedtime of before 10pm. (Despite being 27 and single. I know, right? I can’t believe I’m single either). HANSON!

In like 3rd grade or something, I deliberately flubbed the winning question of the school spelling bee in order to let my best friend win. She was such a bitch. I was such a codependent little child.

Anyway, back to the submissions, if there are any more.

Remember when Fox was making all those fake Disney movies? Well, “Anastasia” is like my favorite thing in the world. It’s sad, funny, romantic, and the hero is named Dmitri…*sigh*. I watch it when I’m down. No shame!
