My mom would make costumes for my sister and I every year and we would go to these. They were a blast. Even when my mom spray painted me silver and put ice cream cartons all over me as the tin man(and me fainting because of the paint and falling off the costume contest stage,I WON)…. these were really, really fun. And totally free to play games and win prizes and bob for apples. ah the good ol days. And just to clarify they had these carnivals well through the 70’s.(i had to mention that since i was not even born yet when this pic was taken but felt very old suddenly)
