A License Plate That Makes Sense Only One Day a Year?

I was pleasantly shocked to stumble upon this parked car with the California license plate “4OF JULY” yesterday while taking a shortcut on foot through a Marina del Rey yacht club parking lot. Maybe the driver only takes the car out one day a year? Maybe it’s also the birthday of a loved one? Or maybe this Infiniti driver just likes to remind us every day of a very important American anniversary.
