Possible Isaac Hayes tribute at Sunset Junction in the works

Sunset Junction organizers are working on organizing a tribute to the late Isaac Hayes, who passed away Sunday.

He was scheduled to perform at the sprawling two-day street fair on Saturday, August 23rd.

Organizers released a statement to LA Metblogs saying, “At this point we are working on the possibility of his band performing with guest Stax and other artists doing a tribute. Stay tuned.”

Sunset Junction takes place August 23rd and 24th.

Interesting. Hayes was the only reason I was planning on attending Sunset Junction. Not to knock the rest of the lineup, but Hayes was the only one I hadn’t seen before.
