Robert Plant & Alison Krauss at the Greek Theatre, June 23 & 34

picture-25.pngShe was named Most Promising Fiddler in the Midwest when she was 13, and earned a Grammy for her solo album I’ve Got That Old Feeling, before she turned 20.

He gave up a career as an accountant to scream and sing about Lord of the Rings mythology with Led Zeppelin.

Together they may be the most mismatched couple since Brigitte Nielsen and Flavor Flav, but Alison Krauss [1] and Robert Plant [2] sound so good together, you’d think their unique musical backgrounds were destined to meet.

You can listen to the entirety of their new album, Raising Sand [3], for free on their site. And then next Monday and Tuesday at the Greek Theatre, you can see them perform live. In addition to selections from their recent collaborations they’ll also perform songs from their own unique careers… meaning Krauss may play some of the tunes she contributed to Oh, Brother, Where Art Thou?, and you may hear Plant crooning “Ramble On” (just, please, no requests for “Stairway”!)

The legendary T Bone Burnett [4], who produced the album, will be band leader and will step up to feature some of his own tunes.
