Archiving Angeles (AA): Recessions in Time

Little Ryan did not have a traditional Christmas. His family, like others, was hit hard by a crumbling economy. They were living in a moving van in the Valley. They were lucky.

The year was 1982.

I wonder where Ryan and his mom are now.

Well, a bit of Google-fu indicates that mom may be living in Hermosa Beach now, assuming that she’s 34 in the picture (not unreasonable since the kid is 9), and that I picked up the right person. Not much like finding dad or kid.

Oh wait, a bit more digging shows that she definitely lives in Hermosa. The kid is in Redondo or Lawndale, depending on the record that turns up.
