There are plenty of MUFDVR, JNGLFVR and CHRYPOPR plates that get through but things like SLUSHO and (in my favorite case- a sex-educator who wanted) LABIA that are flat out denied. My favorite casino in Vegas back when I lived there was the 4 Queens and the DMV wouldn't let me have "Q Q Q Q". Fight the fight and keep us posted. I am dying to know how this one turns out. This reminds me of a hilarious case from my legal daze. A guy who was an accountant had the license plate "GETTIN SUM." Another driver saw the plate, was offended, and complained to DMV, which yanked the guy's plate. He tried to explain that his plate was just a math reference, but the DMV guy said that the plate had an obvious sexual reference. Whereupon the driver wrote to the DMV guy and said that, under his (DMV guy) standard, his (DMV guy) own name -- DICKINSON -- was also filthy dirty, and needed to be changed immediately. Hilarious!
