Happy April Fool’s Birthday, Metro

I’m all in favor of keeping dangerous weapons out of the hands of fools. Let’s start with typewriters.

My last post yesterday was my last post. For the day.

I’m not really going anywhere. I can’t. There is too much to talk about. I mean, who else would give you regular updates on the head-scratchy incompetence of Metro? Let’s take a look at this special note posted today on Los Angeles Transportation Headlines:

Today the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority observes 15 years since the merger between the Southern California Rapid Transit District and the Los Angeles County Transportation Commission. The year 2008 marks the 50th anniversary of public governance and public ownership of the transit system in Los Angeles County, and also the 135th year since the first public transit franchise was granted by the City of Los Angeles.

Wow. 135 years. That’s amazing. Just think how far the Green Line will reach in 2143.

Oh, and this about the Gold Line extension:

"And it will take those future Gold Line riders and others to show up at the April 8 meeting at 6 p.m. at Potrero Heights Elementary School, 8026 E. Hill Drive, in Rosemead, to tell the Metro staff to move the Gold Line Foothill Extension into the agency’s final planning document." – SGVT

Oh, sonofa…there I was, getting all weepy and sentimental, wishing you well, never suspecting because it was not yet April Fool’s Day…

    Well, welcome back. I guess.

Ms. H…another post is coming on the gold line. I propose we vote NO and use it as a feeder to down town. I’ll be there with the vote NO speech in one minute.
