Google Adds Parking Info for Santa Monica

I’m a fanatic about checking traffic flow on Google (with the iphone it’s the bomb) and with different traffic sites before I get on the road, so I love this. If you live or are gonna go to Santa Monica, Google has just added a cool new feature for checking out the parking situation. They’re including parking space availability for the public lots, so now you can check before you get there, where to park.

Of course, if you are more than 10 minutes or so away, you’ll need to update your info because the situation changes as people park and leave. I guess it’s real practicality is with web-enabled hand-held devices. But it’s cool anyway. They’ve put parking icons on the map to indicate that option.
