I love this band!

I just got email that Red Meat, the best honky tonk band in California, is playing a few shows in town to support their new CD “We Never Close” (produced by my own buddy Dave Alvin).¬† Please do yourself a favor and try to catch ‘em.¬† They are positively fantastic live and well worth the dreaded Venture Out On A Weekend Night.¬†¬†

Saturday, September 8
Cinema Bar in Culver City
Showtime apx. 10 PM
No Cover
(This place is small and whenever they play its absolutely packed so get there early or weep in your car)

Sunday, September 9
Safari Sam’s Sunday Brunch¬†
noon - 4 PM
No Cover but you pay for food and drink (um, its a brunch)
Red Meat is supposed to go on first, then a Hamburg-era Beatles cover band, then Red Meat again
