Let There Be Light

I’m not sure if there was an official ceremony in which Councilman Tom LaBonge flipped a switch or cut a ribbon but the lights are finally on at brand new traffic signal by the Silver Lake Trader Joe’s on Hyperion at Monon. And while I’m sorry that resident Bill Wingard had to die last January in order to spur the city to action, I’m thankful to LaBonge and the Los Angeles Department of Transportation for finally making this crossing a safer place, as seen in my crappy through-the-windshield, on-the-move snapshot across the intersection this afternoon:

    Man, I was just gonna post about this! Yeah, the traffic flow’s aaaalll plugged up there now, but at least you can get across the street with your life intact.
